A little bit of home in the hospital<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The walk-in room is located in the HMC Anthonushove, Burgemeester Banninglaan 1, 2262 BA Leidschedam, route red 9th<\/sup> floor (room 028, immediately in the elevator hall).
Open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, telephone number 088 9792659<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the HMC Anthoniushove in Leidschedam, the BriBos Foundation has a cozy living room and a separate pampering room. Patients and their loved ones are welcome in this room for coffee, information, and a listening ear. The room can be used by and for peer support groups, as well as for discussion groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The room contains a wealth of information about many types of cancer and the various cancer treatments available. Volunteers working for the Foundation collaborate closely with doctors and oncology nurses. Doctors and nurses will also be present in the room at certain times to answer questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You're welcome to drop in and take a look. If you'd like to sign up for peer support or a discussion group, you can also do so via info@bribos.nl<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The volunteers can do more, for example:
\u2013 being present at bad news conversations;
\u2013 accompany to various departments for treatments;
\u2013 helping to complete the questionnaire for a doctor or oncology nurse;
\u2013 help with making a list for the funeral and last wishes;
\u2013 visiting patients at home or in the hospice and, if desired, being present at the time of death;
- care of relatives in the event of death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the oncology department, volunteers hand out pampering bags stichting Bribos<\/strong> which contains, in addition to a number of niceties, information about cancer and what it covers and where to go with questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshops for:
\u2013 personal care, for example during chemotherapy and radiation;
\u2013 explanation of make-up (visagie) when you are bald. For example, how to draw eyebrows;
\u2013 explanation of cleaning and maintaining a cannula (for throat cancer);
\u2013 explanation of different breast prostheses and what to wear for a mastectomy;
\u2013 how to deal with fears;
\u2013 how to live with cancer and how to pick up the thread again after treatment;
\u2013 how do I tell my children I have cancer. There are special booklets aimed at children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pampering moments:
\u2013 various types of massages, such as hand\/foot, body, reflexology;
\u2013 hairdresser;
\u2013 make-up;
\u2013 beautician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

General workshops and peer support:
\u2013 making a memory board (your own step-by-step plan in images);
\u2013 crocheting and\/or knitting;
\u2013 crafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
