The Objective

Het idee van de BriBos Verwentasjes The idea for the BriBos Pampering Bags arose from the idea that when you get sick, you desperately want information, but you don't always have access to it. Brigitte Bosman, a former lung cancer patient, encountered this problem herself. "You don't just grab a brochure with information. Many people feel a sense of shame or invasion of privacy when they find brochures lying around. Searching online yourself also tends to raise more questions and anxiety than it does to provide answers or reassurance." Brigitte came up with the idea to create BriBos Pampering Bags with the right information. The bags contain information on, among other things:

Brigitte, as the initiator, approached companies, resulting in a range of samples and mini-sized personal care products, as well as various fun gadgets for these bags. These products are provided free of charge by various sponsors, companies, and individuals.

The bags, as it were, create the incredibly important bridge for a patient to correct information, respectful attention and the sharing of inevitable emotions with fellow sufferers.

Target audience: Oncology patients, both men and women, who are or have been undergoing treatment, as well as, and not to forget, their loved ones.

The Foundation strives to provide as many patients as possible in the oncology ward with a moment of peace. This is achieved by distributing weekly BriBos pampering bags, offering a listening ear, and providing information. The Foundation has its own (living) room at HMC Westeinde Hospital in The Hague. Oncology patients and their loved ones can drop in for a chat, information, or conversations with others in the same situation.

The doctors and nurses at HMC Westeinde and HMC Antonius Hove in Leidschendam refer people to the foundation or identify patients who could use some support. If a patient is unable to come to the walk-in/pampering room, they are visited at the hospital or even at home. To continue the wonderful initiative for these pampering bags, the name of the bags is linked to Brigitte Bosman's name: "Bri Bos Pampering Bags." To safeguard the philosophy, the BriBos Pampering Bags were incorporated into a foundation in 2014. The foundation is registered with the Chamber of Commerce and has ANBI status.
